  • Koh Samui & Hong Kong!

We're going to Koh Samui, Thailand and Hong Kong next month!  I'm so excited!!

    Four Seasons Koh Samui
It just opened February 1, 2007.  I love going to new hotels~!

We're going to stay in either the Beach Villa or 1-bedroom Villa.

The only minus about staying at a brand new place is not knowing much before you get there.  Even the Four Seasons website doesn't have that much info or that many photos.

Has anyone ever been to Koh Samui?

We're going to stay in a Premier Deluxe Harbour View Room.  I hope it'll be worth all the dough~ because this place actually costs about the same as the 1-bedroom Villa in Koh Samui.

Andy is going to be at a conference for a few days so I'll be on my own during the days.  I don't mind though~ we're going for an awesome purpose~ Andy was chosen for this special program for people within the company who have "high potential."  I'm so proud of my sweetie!

Anyways, I have no idea what to do in HK.  What should I do?  Any Xangans out there in HK?

  • it's gorgeous in koh samui!!!! i went to phuket, and LOVED it. I ate everything, everything!

and shop -- buy all the crap that you can get at Pier 1 for 30 times the price, all for like 30 baht!

  • The sole purpose of HK is to eat and shop!! I would walk around the streets checking out the different shops. You will be in Central...so you are pretty close to all the shopping. There is one street on the Kowloon side that has alot of trendy shops to browse through. It is always mind-boggling how different fashion is over there. Don't forget to try the Star Ferry once...it is pretty fun. You have to eat at Clear Water Bay...the best seafood ever. Trust your nose when it comes to picking out which restaurant. The seafood is still alive when you pick it out. Gotta try the lobster with cheesy sauce and the peeing shrimp with garlic. Definitely worth the time and money. I wish I was going back to HK!
  • oooohhh... looks awesome!  I've never been but I hear the food and shopping is wonderful.  Have fun and post lots of pic when you get back!  and congrats to your hubby!!  *^^*
  • well you know where I'm at :) see you when you get here.

    congrats to Andy!
  • wow, looks so nice! can you take me with you? hehe

  • Hi from a HK passerby :) I've been to Koh samui and it was fun! I suppose all resort places allows you to relax. Do lots of Spa and eat lots of yummy thai food :)

As for HK, what do you want to do? I could give you a whole lists of places so shop :) For Central, you can go to IFC (right next to Four Seasons), Landmark, and there are lots of restaurants/bars in Lan Kwai Fong and SoHo Area. I also like going shopping in Pacific Place (Admiralty, which is only 1 stop MTR ride away from Central) and Causeway Bay (3 Stops from Central). There are lots of local shopping malls and boutiques. MTR is the move convenient transportation to take, you won't get lost! If you want to experience really local stuff, go to Mong Kok! Really cheap shopping and you can bargain :)

Drop me a line if you need any other information :)

  • Wow, lucky you!!!!! I love HK and Koh Samui (went there last summer on my big Asia trip)! Be sure to talk to me before you take off.

Koh Samui - I have some suggestions in terms of activities (e.g, a hike next to the Namuang Waterfall, nearby snorkeling and scuba diving trips, experiencing the Full Moon Beach Party, Chaweng Beach, visiting the Big Buddha, etc.).

HK - it's definitely all about the shopping, eating and the nightlife. I'll put you in touch with my friend in HK. She's a local who knows all the best spots to shop and she can even hook up VIP discounts as well.

  • BTW, the waterfall depicted in the bottom-right corner of the Koh Samui section of your post is the Namuang Waterfall. I'm so jealous you'll be staying at the Four Seasons there! We wanted to stay there too, but they were still putting the finishing touches on it. I believe it debuted in September 2006 - literally a month after we were there!
