Wedding DVD Help…
I need some help please~~ our videographer has been patiently waiting (for months, eek!) for us to turn in our song choices and preferences for our DVD. We have 2 different DVDs they’ll be editing – a 2 song recap & a 30 minute highlight.
Here are some we’re considering…
(1) Edwin McCain – I Could Not Ask For More
- One of my favorite songs~ we used it in our slideshow too
- I love the lyrics…

I’d really appreciate any advice on what kinds of songs are good for wedding DVDs~~ instrumental? oldies? guitar? mainly vocal? Thanks~!!
P.S. This Xanga music upload feature is awesome~ now I can listen to my favorite songs whenever I want!

wow, that is some collection. i suggest having a mix of songs, don’t want to make it too sappy. I don’t like to use a lot of popular songs because once a person hears a familiar song, the photos seem predicatable because the song is predicatable. just my 2 cents. you’ve got some good songs up there!
love the pic! im most likely going to have Lonestar – Amazed – lol…. its so hard to choose from! theres so many good ones!
what was your wedding song? my hubby made a really cool wedding video for a friend and he had one song for ceremony (their wedding song) and then “fly me to the moon” for the reception.. it worked out well!

you have some great songs on there! one of my favorites is stevie wonder- overjoyed. lonestar – amazed is a really great soon too.
those are a lot of great songs! so hard to pick one! btw- i tried aquaphor, i think i’m in love! haha
forget the song, i say you do commentary. have a voice over with you and the hubby explaining that’s going on in the picture. it’d be AWESOME(!) and so very original.

I like Through the years. Another one you might want to consider is Destiny by Jim Brickman. It’s a lovely wedding song too.
hiya .. we used a few country love songs in our dvds and wedding in general and lots of ppl commented on how different it was. two great ones: “when you say nothing at all” – allison krauss and “remember when” – keith urban. crap – i’m not sure if that ‘s the correct title for his song, but it’s sooooo sweet! good luck! the rest of your list is great … OH and we used really cute oldies like “today i met the boy i’m gonna marry” and the song from “dirty dancing” and “ain’t no mountain high”.

I lovelovelove the lonestar song, and the jim brickman song…and lifehouse now that I think about it. Our wedding song was Mary Chapin Carpenter’s Grow old with me…I heard it in college and knew that was going to be my wedding song. My brother did our wedding DVD (he went to film school in Florida), and he put a few lovedovey songs during the ceremony and everything…but then a kind of upbeat song at the end. I liked how he did it ’cause the wedding was a celebration and a happy time and the music really conveyed it.
gosh~ all of those songs are REALLYYYYY good. i really like the edwin mccain song too.
have you heard “i will be here” by steven curtis chapman (as mentioned above by GeLLiBeLLy) the song is so beautiful and very touching. we used it when we did our slideshow at our wedding.

What beautiful song choices. I love jim brickman and the winter’s sonata reminds me of a Korean drama. Is it from one? The instrumentals are so beautiful. I also love the song Feels Like Home. I forgot all about that song. Good luck. We have to pick out 200 photos for our photographer and it’s taking forever.

Thanks! The videographer picked those songs. The song during the ceremony was Tracy Chapman’s “The Promise”. Looks like you listed alot of the songs already. Great choices!
