Better 2008
Hope you all had a wonderful and memorable holiday season! We got to spend lots of time with family! We also went to DC for a really awesome Muslim/Indian/Chinese traditional wedding.
Resolutions for a Better 2008
2007 was rough in some ways and amazing in others – the great thing about a new year is that there’s always so much hope and resolve for a better year. Here are my resolutions…tell me one of yours!
== Better Health ==
I recently went to get a check up for the first time in too many moons. After a lot of testing and consultations I found that I have a heart condition and crazy high cholesterol. My doctor said that I need to take medication but will give me a chance to improve in the next few months. This means…exercising and eating healthy. Eek!
== Expanding Our Family ==
The first step to fulfilling this resolution is to find a good obstetrician. Does anyone have a good rec for an ob in the West LA/Century City area?
== Staying Organized ==
I love to collect and buy things so naturally it results in tons of clutter. I’m going to try to stay organized and not hang on to every little memento/chotchke/thing I find.
== Friends ==
Helping plan two very important events for two of my best buddies – a wedding and a baby shower!
== Improving Photography ==
I really hope I can be more disciplined and improve my photography and Photoshop skills.
== Better ==
This is just a general resolution but I really want to become a better wife, daughter, grandkid, sister, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, friend…just a better person.
My wish for all of you in 2008 is…good health, amazing memories with family and friends, love and tons of happiness and blessings!

my old doctor is THE BEST! kinda hard to get to because she’s on sunset and doheny, but everyone i refer to her say she’s the best doctor ever. dr. violet boodaghian. trust me you’ll love her! =)
you couldn’t have put it any better, for a Better 2008. I like that. Btw thanks for the encouragement, i really hope I am not strapped in a straight jacket at the end of that day! ;p

when i was living in west la, i really loved my ob. her name is anita sumen and she is part of the Beverly Hills Group of Women Physicians (I’ve heard great things about all the doctors in this group). They have an office in BH and also in Manhattan Beach. She was so warm and caring when i had a million questions (and some complications) during my first pregnancy. She even sent me a baby gift after Andrew was born. She delivers at UCLA and also at Cedars. Since the group only accepts ppo insurance, there is a short wait time and alll their equipment is in the office (blood work, ultrasounds, etc.)

Happy 2008… the wedding looks pretty awesome.. yea I have cholesterol problem too… me and exercise just doesn’t match… everything I like to eat are high in cholesterol.. I just have to learn portion control… good luck with all your resolutions… yay for trying… you gonna be a great mom.. I see how you are with Bella…no recommendation for OB since I’m in NY…

awww, sorry to hear about your heart condition….. but don’t worry too much. try to stay stress free and TRY to live a healthy lifestyle, def. use less salt. i had open heart surgery when i was 17 and i’m totally fine now. i don’t know how serious your condition is but if your dr. is giving you a chance to “improve”, it should be considered more of a boo boo than anything. but nonetheless, you will be in my prayers. ^^

Still have never attended an Indian wedding! They look so festive and colorful- I have wedding guest envy.
Those are wonderful, upbeat resolutions! I actually don’t like making mine at the beginning of the year- I like to make changes in spring when the weather is warmer. *lol* I think I’m just too lazy after the holidays. But better health in regards to nutrition and exercise for me and Joe are definitely tops on our list. Also to spend more time with friends and family- to make the effort to see people more often since we’re not living closeby. Sounds like you have an exciting 2008 ahead though! And Bella licking her lips (nose) as she stares at the plates of goodies is just too cute!

there have been lots of changes in my life.. first, i’m graduating!!! hehehe… and then working! I’m going to wrok at the Fullerton City Hall..i go in for an interview at the end of this month… oh my.. i feel like i’m getting old. heheh.. then back to school again in the fall for my teaching credentials. (yah. i might become an elementary teacher..hehe..) jenny i miss you! your mom came to our church on sunday.. i loved seeing her.. i really feel so warm and nice when i see her… maybe because I’ve known her since i was a baby..

hubby and i still have to do our resolutions. we were supposed to today but we met our friend koo. we are both so jetlagged. went to bed at 2am and got up at 1pm. sigh. it’s 1133pm now and i’m sleepy but worry i’ll not sleep, so we’re both on the computers! hahah

hello…. i was browsing thru one of the xanga blogs and stumbled upon ur page…. your posts are very fun to read =) and also nice pictures ~ about the health you posted.. i used to eat alot of spicy hot food but i cut down alot because i started to get heart burns.. but eating healthy does make you feel better ~

hi! omg. i totally didn’t mean to sound like yours is nothing and mine was… whatever your condition is, i’m sure that it brought along stress as it did for me. i was just trying to give you some words of encouragement. but like i said before, i think the best advice i got from other patients was “use less salt” and try to eat lots of greens because they thin your blood (unless you’re told not to, ofcourse). in anycase, i’m sure things will be all better soon. =)
