  • OMG, I don’t even know where to start!!

    1) 1st picture: Can’t tell where you are :(

    2) 2nd and 3rd: Second floor railing at Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center facing Kalakaua with DFS Galleria in the background. :)

    3) Eggs and Things on Kalakaua: what did you have there? Next time you come back here, try a place called Boots & Kimo’s.

    4) Dole Pineapple Plantation: Did you have the Dole Whip? I keep posting about it hehe. I love it!

    5) Downtown Waimea: Actually, this is Haleiwa. ;)

    6) North Shore: Damn, I can’t tell where this is. I love the writing in the sand though.

    7) Pearl Harbor Memorial: It’s not what you think, huh? I actually like going there. Did you go on the USS Missouri while you were there?

    8) Wedding Cafe: That’s so cool! I can’t believe you went! The booth you’re sitting in is the one I sit at all the time. Those dresses are cute, aren’t they?

    9) Germaine’s Luau: That place is beautiful isn’t it? The Ko’olina resort? The ocean behind where you guys are standing is where I go diving on the weekends :)

    10) Isn’t it awesome swimming with the dolphins?

    11) Wow, I really like their cake!

    12) I love the pictures you took at the Mandarin oriental, especially on the beach. I love that place. We considered having our reception there too. But it lost out to the Moana Surfrider.

    13) You totally look like my friend Glenda :)

  • RYC:

I actually wanted to make more! But in hindsight, I discovered that even this was overkill with the amount of food. I wanted to make some kind of amuse bouche and a second entree too. I have to remember that we can’t eat as much as we used to. I can’t wait until Father’s day. Hehe.

I’m gonna need to get a wide-angle lens to take a picture of the office. The widest lens I have right now won’t do it :(

  • we’ll be going to oahu, i think he said we’re staying in waikiki.
where was the exact ceremony location of your friend’s wedding, it’s beautiful.

  • You SHOULD consider having your wedding here! That’d be so awesome, and it’s not too far for family from California. Stef’s family is flying out here from California. It’s a good way to keep the wedding small and high-quality too. We’re only having a max of 150 between the two of us and our families.

I noticed you guys were looking at some of the Hotel/ Venue binders at The Wedding Cafe? One of the reasons I think that place is so great is because it’s a one-stop place where you can get all that information without having to actually make appointments with the venues to get information from them. Totally invaluable.

If you guys are interested, I’d be glad to help you guys out on-the-ground here. I’m meeting with a venue coordinator for Haidai222 next week, and I’m helping a couple other people out with this stuff. I totally enjoy doing this. So if you want to do this here, it’s a possibility because you know somebody here who is willing to help with footwork for you. :)

You know, Hawai’i touches certain people in a unique way and it never quite leaves them. I think you’re one of those people.

I moved here six months ago, and I don’t regret a minute of it. :)

Oh, and I posted a recipe for the Spicy Tuna Sandwich that you like!

  • heyyyyyyyyy!! i love the pictures..!! i went to the dole place!! didn’t they have a MAZE there?? i also went to the memorial place!! i miss youuu!! Happy LaaaaaaaaaaTE birthday!!

and i heard you guys got engaged!! Congratulations!!!

  • ryc: i’ll let you know how the scanner is…haven’t had a chance to set it up yet. =)

  • RYC:

Yay! I’m glad you liked it in the first place. I was worried that I sent you to the Wedding Cafe and you wouldn’t like the sandwich. I need to go back there again and get another sandwich, bring it home, and make a completely accurate duplicate. I think I’m pretty close. Did you try making it yet?

If you haven’t, make sure you use Albacore Solid Chunk! And make sure you integrate the mayo really well into the mixture. Half a cup may seem like a lot, and you may use less, but I found that the Albacore Solid Chunk has so much substance that half a cup is necessary.

  • ryc: thanks! great minds think alike as they say…

  • the wedding look beautful… i noticed the chinese and korean writing on the sand…. are you guys chinese and korean couple? I’m chinese and my fiance is korean..

  • wow, i love the photo of your hubs saluting at pearl harbor.  Very nice shot!!
