  • Strut Your Mutt

    SYM2006

We recently went on a charity walk called “Strut your Mutt” with Bella to raise money for homeless dogs.

I walked for 2 miles in flip flops!

    So did Andy…hehehe!

After the walk there were tons of homeless dogs up for adoption.  There…we found a little homeless dog who captured our hearts.

    Introducing……………..Gracie!

This poor girl lived in a cage most of her life…had been abused, had an eye infection, kennel cough, fur so matted it was ripping up her skin, and had just been crapped on by her cellmate….yet she had such a sweet and gentle spirit.  We fell in love.

Bella:  “Don’t worry Gracie…I’ll always protect you.”

It looks like they’re friends, huh?  They’ve been fighting like crazy though.  I have hope that it’ll pass and they’ll really love each other one day.

  • Congrats to your new addition!!

  • o my god. u so lucky

  • oh my goodness! you have another little one! the family just gets bigger and bigger. :) we should have a play date sometime! i take yuki to a local dog park, but she doesn’t seem to like it very much. i think there are too many dogs. :( but she is much much smaller than bella… only 9 lbs. is bella a full maltese? if so, she is pretty big for one! but of course still as cute as ever. :)

it was such a great idea for you to walk for strut your mutt. how did you find out about it? i’d like to do more of that in the future. :) and thanks for remember yuki, hehe!

  • omg i want to meet gracie!! soo cute! i hope that bella and gracie will start getting along and being best friends! now once they get used to each other, you can convince andy to get yourself a tiny lil kitty!!! HEHEHE. miss u sis! r u and andy coming to visit me at the end of august w/ mom and dad?? oh i really hope so!!!!!

  • yay~pics of gracie finally! she’s adorable, Jenny. and i see what u mean about her looking like Alesen. She’s all grey and black just like him.  I LOVE the pic of Bella with her arm around Gracie ~ She looks so protective of her!! • wow two miles in flip flops? I hope your feet are okay! …congrats on the addition to your family.

  • Very cute!!! FI wants to get a puppy from the pound too.  He thinks it’s better that way.

  • blessed gracie’s found a good home =)

  • awww… i love the pic where bella has her protective paw around gracie!!! so cute!!! =) we’d like to get a dog, too. but we’re afraid we wouldn’t have the time to take care of one…

  • omg you adopted a mini schnauzer!!!! i have 2 mini schnauzers! they are my favorite breed. my mimi is the same salt & pepper color as gracie & my other one is a white one!

  • lucky dog =)

and wow! what a little haircut can do! she’s adorable!

  • When I first introduced Monique (my first) to our new puppy Sachi, I didn’t think they would ever take to each other.  Eventually, I think they got used to being with each other.  Even though they weren’t ever the dogs that would like each other, they would lay down next to each other and when we would go on walks they would make sure the other one was around.  Since Monique passed away, I think Sachi has been lonely.  She’s only known life with another dog in the house.

  • oh wow!!
your two dogs are soooo adorable!
I can’t wait for me to get a dog, when I move to either a bigger apartment, or to a house.
    =)
How do you hear of these things, like charity walks?

  • Awww, looks like they’re fast friends!  Was Bella jealous you guys brought Gracie home?  The husband is trying to talk me into getting a dog.  I’m not so sure yet.  I’m really particular with the way things need to be in the house and I just think it would be cruel since we both work pretty long hours.  Still, how can you resist those cute faces?!

  • that’s so sweet!! congrats on the new addition to your family =) it takes really special people to adopt homeless doggies..

  • cute!!! i really want a dog someday!!!!!! we’ll see. maybe when i get married.

anyways, my camera is… the canon sd 800i?~~

  • bless your heart.. you guys adopted Gracie.. what a wonderful thing to do… I love the protective Bella pic.. hope they become great friends soon…

  • omg jenny..i didn’t know that you got another doggie!!!! she’s sooooooooo cute!!!!  she must LOVE her new home with you, andy, and bella =)  i love her new haircut, and i love that pic of bella protecting gracie.  i’m sooo glad that you saved gracie and that she is finally going to a good, and loving family =)  sometimes when i go to petco they have the pet adoptions and i just want to take them ALL home with me!!!!  btw…belle’s my first dog and zoe came a year or so later.  at first they didn’t get along at all!!!!  but after awhile, they got used to each other…it’ll take some time for them to be friends =)

  • aw, such sweet puppy pics! and man… i sorta miss the bruin campus!

  • awwwwwwwwwwww… so sweet!!  we need to get the pups together soon!!  when??  i love that you took them to the UCLA campus for your photoshoot.  gosh, i miss that place…

btw, when you mentioned on my site that coco will now have TWO buddies on our playdates, i thought that bella was preggars!

gracie is so lucky to have you & the hubby as parents!! congrats!

  • Gracie is so adorable!!! I love the picture where Bella is protecting Gracie! When I brought my 2nd dog home, my first was very upset, but they love eachother now!

  • that is really nice of you to adopt!

  • Do you know any homeless Bulldog that need a home? Jung and I will gladly take it! ;op

  • congrats on the new addition!

  • hahha,we def are planning on it.  at least i am.  lol

  • aww that’s so great that you adopted gracie. i hope she and bella will become buddies too. sadly, i don’t think gus was meant to have siblings. such the only child :(

  • Gracie is such a cutie!  Reminds me of how Barney looked when we first got him at the shelter – and how he looks when we’re not very good about keeping him groomed. And Bella’s legs are so long!  *lol* I love that pic of Bella cuddling with Gracie. So sweet. I’m sure the fighting will subside once they figure out their roles in the family.  But all siblings fight, it’s only natural.  :)   I still have not brought my doggies to UCLA- I want them to see where daddy & mommy met.

  • I love that you adopted Gracie!! There should be more people like you adopting homeless dogs instead of going to pet stores and breeders. Congratulations on your new addition, gosh, she sure is a cutie-pie. Her and Bella look like the best of friends already.

ryc: Thanks for your words of comfort, I really appreciate it, you’re the best!

  • yea!
a xanga group to do ‘strut your mutt’ charity next year sounds like a wonderful idea!

are you puppies posing at UCLA?
    looks like it! (i think….)
I just graduated from UCLA a month ago! =D

  • that’s so sweet you rescued a dog!  I’ve always wanted to do that but never have.  Maybe one of these days we can.  Gracie and Bella look soooo cute together~    I love the hugging one.  I’m always a sucker for hugging animal pics. =D

  • gracie and bella are so cute together! too adorable

  • gracie is so loved already!  your post makes us want to adopt also =)

  • awww they are the most adorable doggies… i really want one. too bad my apt is ridiculously tiny

  • that’s the most beautiful thing i’ve ever seen! i hope gracie and bella will become lifelong friends!!

  • Gracie is such a cutie and it’s so great that you and Andy found her and adopted her.  I hope Bella and Gracie get along soon too so we can all do dinner together! Andy & Ed were talking about doing dinner soon – let’s shoot for the week of the 23rd!!!

  • Oh my! Bella is so big now. I remember when you posted pics of her when she was a puppy! Poor Gracie…it breaks my heart and makes me want a friend for diggy. Let me know how having two dogs goes. I want a rescue, but my hubbie is a little hesitant. Both dogs are so adorable!

  • cuuuuuuuute!  the picture where bella is ‘hugging’ gracie is so adorable~~!!

  • that is too cute! bella and gracie like any girly girls!

  • AUGHH!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
Gracie is so sweet! I am so happy for you and your growing little family. I’m sure that Bella and Gracie will be bff’s very soon. It is so wonderful that you rescued Gracie and gave her the home and love that I’m sure she craved and deserves.

  • very cute! aww, i wished i lived closer to ucla so I could take walks there (too bad i don’t have a dog to walk though.)

  • how cute! i’ve been wanting to adopt a dog for some time now but where i live i can’t have a dog. :( i do have a cat who i love dearly, but i’m hoping i’ll be able to get a dog soon. the stories of so many of those dogs that don’t have homes just break my heart. i’m sure bella and gracie will be good friends soon. :)

  • It’s so wonderful that you adopted Gracie. She look so cute with her new haircut. I hope that she and Bella will get start getting along better. I wish I had known about the Strut Your Mutt event… what a great cause!
