  • Camera Equipment

Hi!  Thanks so much for your comments re our South Africa photos!  For my buddies who asked about the camera equipment I used in South Africa…here you go!

I’m a total beginner photographer so at first I didn’t know anything about cameras.  I learned so much from just researching online.  These 2 sites have great reviews and message boards on camera stuff –> Fred Miranda & Digital Photography Review.

    Canon EOS 40d               Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L

Canon Rebel XTi               Canon Speedlite 580EX II Flash

    Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 IS USM         Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM

Canon PowerShot SD850 IS                Sony HD Camcorder

National Geographic Camera Shoulder Bag & Backpack

       41j8oXM0OfL 51D3x1JVPXL

    Epson P5000

The P5000 is a storage device where you can back up and review your photos/videos on.  Awesome for traveling — you don’t have to bring your laptop plus you can review your photos on a big screen.  I love this thing!

    Have a great day!

  • WHAT ARE YOU DOING??? rest you workaholic woman!!!!!!!!

  • i also have the 40d, great camera.  how did you get it in time, it just came out.  nice choice on lenses, much better than the lens that comes with it.  the pictures are all in the lens, as you’re probably figuring out.  by the way, that p5000 looks like a great idea, much lighter than carrying a laptop!  did you use a tripod for any of those shots?

  • this post is so helpful!! Thanks!!   Paul and I got the 40D too!!  We get it on Monday and we can’t wait!!!!  We’re starting off with the cheap lens…the “plastic fantastic”…and then hopefully we’ll start building up on our own lens collection too.  =P  Thanks for the advice!  Post more pics!!  Even though you’re a beginner..those africa pictures are AMAZING!

  • Thanks for dropping by.  I’m glad you like the photos… not sure exactly where I’ll be having it (if I have it), but hopefully you’ll be able to join us even if it’s a ways off from West La.

    Very cool!

i loveee your cupcakes!  you need to quit your day job and start a full-time cupcake business missy~ you’re awesome!

ryc:  thanks for your comment re africa!  it was soo fun!  we were a little nervous at first being so close to the animals but then we realized that they just saw the jeeps as other animals and not as a threat.  it wasn’t scary sleeping outside because the lodge was raised on the side of a mountain so none of the scary animals could get to us.  it was crazy though…hearing lions roaring and hippos talking in the middle of the night.    oh~ re shots…we got 4 shots but only because i haven’t gotten shots since i was a little kid.  they aren’t mandatory though.  we just wanted to be super cautious!  i hope you go one day!!!  it’s closer to nyc so it’ll be easier to get there!

  • that’s a lot of equipment! you are a true professional. :)

  • Your site went from wedding stuff to camera stuff.  :/
