Shutterfly Party
Do you remember the Shutterfly party I had last year? I threw another party this year and it was soo fun! I wanted to get the moms together to talk about and compare different photo products and companies. I also wanted to try to get some cute holiday photos of the kiddos so I asked everyone to dress in holiday gear. Here are a few of my favorites~
This might be one of my favorite photos of the year. The kids look so cute and it reminds me of a Gap holiday ad.
One of the things we looked at were photo calendars. I love making these as gifts for family. They’re so much simpler to make than photo books and they’re such wonderful & useful keepsakes.
Giveaway
Everyone who came to the party got special gifts from Shutterfly and goodies from me! I have more Shutterfly gift packets to give away here! Disneyland
It all started with an advertisement we received in the mail. There was a photo of a kid hugging Minnie Mouse. After Evan saw it he asked us every single day…Evan hug Minnie Mouse? Evan go Disneyland?
We got an annual pass! It was Andy’s birthday so it was nice to start the pass on a special day.
And this is what happens after a few hours at Disneyland…
Thanksgiving 2011
Hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving! We had such a wonderful time at my in-laws’ place~!
There are so many things to be thankful for. Whenever I find myself complaining or grumpy I close my eyes and think of how blessed I am. I’m so lucky to even have these things to complain about. I don’t want to take any of it for granted. It might be hard being up in the middle of the night to feed Joy but at least I’m not losing sleep worrying about having a roof over my head or finding food to eat. I might complain about how hard it is to handle Evan’s tantrums but thank goodness he has the strength and conviction to struggle instead of being chronically ill or too weak to care. Try it the next time you’re feeling grumpy…just think how lucky you are to even have the luxury to complain!

I absolutely love all your pictures! It makes me so happy to read your posts and see all your pictures! My all time favorite is the family picture with Minnie Mouse. So true! We are so blessed to have all we have and so thankful our kids are healthy. We do take things for granted and complain about not-so-important things, but we do have to keep ourselves grounded and think about all the great things we have around us!

I love those photo calendars, I made them for the past 2 years and my in-laws love them! Time to start working on my 2012 calendar, always takes me so long to go through pictures and pick them for the calendar…sigh

haha, it does look like a Gap ad! Looks like you had a great holiday dress up party… I use adoramapix for the photobooks. I’ve used picaboo and a few others too, but I havent tried shutterfly. If you have any gift packets left, I’d be interested in the random giveaway
Evan looks like your hubs; with Joy, I can’t tell yet; but it’s true– Bella sorta resembles you, LOL. I think it’s the big black eyes.
A photo calendar is a great idea! Are you also sending photo holiday cards? I want to send some with my little girl’s face plastered all of it but there are so many companies to choose from….minted, tinyprints, cardstock, etc.

You have such awesome ideas for parties – I can’t wait to move back to LA so I can maybe attend one/see you in action! I can’t believe how big Joy is! I am in love with your photos! Your family is too adorable. Guess what, we found out that we are having a baby GIRL in March of 2012. =] Our plan is that this will be our first of many kids. =D

Love all your pics! Thanks for the reminder that we should be thankful for the things we have… sometimes hard when lil N is going crazy and wanting things his way (we had a “time-in” session with him yesterday and he threw up all over Peter.

@wedders111 - I think you would be impressed with the quality of Shutterfly photo books! I also like Blurb too~ their photo books are even nicer since you can get premium paper. The only thing with Blurb is that it isn’t as user friendly. Hope you’ve been doing great!!! Update soon please~~! =)
@superdieps - You should totally do photo calendars for the grandparents~ they’ll love them so much! I usually don’t send out that many holiday cards~ I just get a handful for family & close friends. Minted & Tiny Prints are expensive! I’ve ordered cards from a bunch of different companies and I feel like they’re pretty comparable. That’s why I like Shutterfly so much~ so much cheaper than a company like Tiny Prints but basically the same quality.
@TheSongStory - You totally have to do the calendars for the grandparents! My parents love theirs so much! You can even put people’s photos on their birthdays! I can’t wait until you guys move back to LA~~ hopefully soon?! You will be a VIP for any party I have, hehe. Although I know you would throw much better ones and hope I get an invite to yours!!

@graciegrace2000 - Eeeek~ can’t believe N threw up on Peter! I totally totally totally understand about the going crazy and wanting things their way. *sigh* I struggle with it all the time~ the struggle between fending off a tantrum and not wanting to always let Evan just be able to get his way on everything. If I let him do whatever he wanted then there wouldn’t be as many tantrums but life just doesn’t work that way~~ lol! Yes~ definitely do the calendar for the grandparents! I think Joy looks just like you, especially her lips! I can’t imagine life with two littles but I’m starting to want another one because of all the cuteness and pregnancy going around on the blogosphere. My head says wait but my heart wants more cute babies haha!
awwww…love all of it! for our 1 year anniversary I gave Kenny a shutterfly “book”, copied my xanga entries of when we first met and coupled them with pictures. he started to cry (hahaha, the manly stoic cry). since then I’ve been using shutterfly for mini books but never calendars, don’t know why lol.
love the pictures and yay for Disneyland pass. Now we can get together and there’s really no excuse! ;P Just kidding…its not like I know we have two kids, right?
